Great American Scrapbook Convention and other Random Topics

Today is not a picture filled day. We will blame it on a no good mail day! Plus I have a lot of random ramblings today. I blame it on being quiet all day at work then coming home and actually listening without interrupting while Dave was talking to me.

First off, those of you that saw the Imagine in the box yesterday. I did end up sleeping with it in my bed the whole night. LOL. And the table is still a horrible mess.

I saw a post on the Circle board about the GASC. It is funny how some spend the money to get there and stay there just so they can shop and spend more money. (I would NEVER do such a thing.)

I'm going to the one in Arlington. I have my room booked as well as the classes I plan on taking. I'm really excited. I'm not going to go to the crops though. Figured right now it's really not my thing especially since I'm going to a retreat in July for a weekend anyways.

I may bring stuff to work on in my room. I really just wanted to be able to take a few classes, buy lots of stuff (which makes me happy I'm going back to work next week) and just hang out in a room alone for once. I heard the shopping there is great!!!

Just in case you are wondering it is from 6/2-6/4! I also found out that I'm geographically challenged. I had no idea where Arlington is and I've lived in this state for all but 2 years of my life.

I was going to try for CHA Summer but well I'm having issues with my um let's say "business partner" so now I need to go get a new tax license, yada yada yada. So maybe the next one.

Since I'm sure it's really really boring by now if anyone is still reading this is the part where you stop. This is where I start posting random topics.

I loved this quote, it was on the Cricut Chirp today:
"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

I was thinking about how true this really is. Now to find the time to hang out with old friends.

Today was a VERY boring day. I spent it stapling 100's of papers together. Took my mentor teacher to the tire store during our conference class time. And listened to a story on tape 4 times too many and we didn't even finish it. I even tried to find stuff to do on the internet.

Here's the good news followed by the bad news:
Good: I am now a certified teacher.
Bad: Almost all school districts in TX are laying off. Fourteen people in the school I'm at right now already received their notices. Another school district close by is letting go of 500 people.

Good: Next Wednesday is my last day of student teaching.
Another good: Then I get to go back to work and make some money before school is out.
Bad: I'm going to miss the students that I've been with for the past three months. I had one ask if I would add him to my facebook so he could put that I'm his mother. hahaha.

Now two last things:
Tomorrow Michaels is having the Yudu on sale for $99. I am going to try my hardest to keep my car from steering that way after work.

And Tim Holtz has a bunch of new stuff at Archivers. I finally got around to the email at work today. I don't plan on going there though because the nearest one is an hour away when there isn't traffic.

Oh, last deal of the day. You can get the Teresa Collins Stampmaker at overstock.com for $126.99 with free shipping. So I guess that was 3 things.

I'll try to stay out of trouble and stop looking for things to buy. :) I think I spent all my savings on my hotel room and classes for the GASC.

P.S. I'm sick of hearing Top Gear from downstairs to all the way up here!

I read the whole post! Should I worry it made sense to me?? This is a terrible time to be going into education and I am sorry all the great new teachers coming up will have a hard time finding jobs. Good luck!
