I'm definitely feeling the effects of being back to work full swing.
I was supposed to go back to working after student teaching last Monday but I found out the Sunday night before that I had a horrible kidney infection which kept me out of work most of the week.
I finally went in on Friday.
It felt so good to be back.
I missed the kids so much.
Some of those kids I hadn't seen in a very long time.
It was weird seeing some of the 8th graders and rememebering when they were barely 6th graders.
I subbed on Friday in Spanish.
It went really well, yet funny.
The students had many more questions for me then I imagined that day.
I made them wait until we shared "Good Things" then I let them ask me questions.
Such as: Did you dye your hair blonde?
Where have you been?
Am I white? (This one had me stumped a lot!)
Am I from America? (Another one that confused me..lol)
Am I from Jersey? (I'm Texan, how much farther away can they get?)
I was then told I am like Eminem, a white person w/a black person trapped in my body. LOL.
They were really at it with me that day!
And I was told I needed to teach about Life!
Well today was Science at a different school.
I hadn't seen these kids since last semester and I really missed them.
My worse two classes for this teacher were excellent today.
The day was so smooth.
And I saw so many teachers I hadn't seen in forever or so it seems.
And it was even noticed that I had lost weight since they last saw me in January. :)
I let them know I had lost 17lbs since Spring Break which was in March.
Now to make it through this week.
It's only Monday, well I guess now technically Tuesday and I should be in bed.
But I have jobs lined up for all week.
The next three days I will be at the same school which is a 40 min. drive away.
That means I will get home around 5pm, grab Erik for swim team, come home for dinner, then catch up on all the things I need to do for the next day.
And Wednesday is come home, swim team, cub scouts, etc.
Thursday is Erik's choir concert.
Luckily Friday the school is less than 5 minutes from my house.
And then on Saturday I have to be up really early for our first practice swim meet.
(Which reminds me that I have some accounting stuff to do for swim team this week. ugh)
Sunday is for sleeping in and recovering from my weekly MS injection.
This is pretty much how it goes until school is out.
Busy Busy Busy!
I will leave though on the last day of school for a convention for scrapbooking so I will have a few days to rest and relax around taking classes and shopping!
I will admit though I'm so happy to be back with the middle school kids again and before I know it school will be out and I will miss them again.
And jobs for the new school year are looking bleak in all the school districts due to statewide budget cuts.
Welcome back to the working world for May!
